ABOUT

My name is Tony and my phone number is 508-733-4120. I am a musician looking to start a rock band from scratch. I have my own rehearsal space in Framingham, ma 01701 ready to go! PA all setup, extra amps, mics, etc… I am mostly a guitar player and have been in many bands of different styles, I play bass and sings as well. My vocals are not that good, that’s why I am looking for a lead singer and also musicians with backup or even lead vocals at times. I have been playing for 35 years. That gives you an idea how old I am, 49 years old and cranking along. Looking for musicians of any color, size, experience and age. I am looking for musicians who can write lyrics and music to at least some level, to co write with me and others in the band. I am also looking for musicians who can play cover songs as well because this new band will consist of covers and originals, I am thinking more covers at first? That’s up in the air still. I want people who can take and give advice and being honest about it. We are to be all treated as equal and pitch in what ever we can to this band. I love hearing feedback from others in the band. It will be a rock and roll based band with some ballads thrown in. Please see following and thank you for your time!

Vocalist(s): Lead vocalist to be male but am open to female as well if it fits.
(Writing and some instrument capabilities are a plus).

Backup vocals: I strive to have backup vocals if possible. Don’t worry if you can’t sing as long as one other can. I’ll give it my best to some leads or backups if it works out for that particular song, recording practices will tell the story.
(Writing is a plus and backup vocals can be simply a backup singer(s) but mostly will be a musician and singing backups).

Guitarist(s): I am a guitarist, (lead & Rhythm). If a better guitarist comes along to do leads and rhythm, etc… I am willing to play bass. I would like two guitarists or one guitar and keyboards or two guitars and keyboards.

Bass Player: A solid bass player is a plus. To be able to play scales and arpeggios around a melody and rhythm makes it interesting while keeping a basic root structure for some rock songs is key too. (Vocals a definite plus).

Keyboards: A keyboardist is what I would really like! Someone who has the equipment and is setup to play different sounds, possibly 2 or more keyboards. Piano is key. Organ is cool, and synth sounds are awesome. A keyboardist that can play keys and a second guitar could work too. (Vocals a definite plus).

Drummer: A rock and roll drummer. Some variations of different timings too. Like 6/8 timing, 5/4 timing. Simple enough. Some fast and some slow songs. 4/4 beat and playing a solid timing is key. Like Beatles to a Terry Bozzio type style.

Influences

Tony Alberini fb.
You do not have to be able to sing exactly like my influences, be original and use your own vocals but with the capability to do covers and make them sound good and interesting. (for example, David Bowie doing See Emily Play by Pink Floyd back in the day). I have Originals and write Originals: Check some of my originals done back in 1988 “Failsafe” and the tunes done 2 years ago “Project AM Radio” for some examples. Also on my page, “Tony Alberini” and . Same songs anyway.

If Male Lead Vocalist: Classic Rock, R&B and like Motown sometimes, Modern Rock, Some Heavy Stuff, Some Ballads, very open, if it’s a catchy tune and written well, it could be a candidate. It’s funny, David Bowie just released a song called “Where are We Now” I have a song of that title I wrote about 15 years ago: Queen, Bowie, Led Zeppelin, Jeff Beck, Aerosmith, Cheap Trick, Beatles, Paul McCartney & Wings, Jane’s Addiction, Elton John, Styx, Incubus, Jimi Hendrix, The Turtles, The Tremeloes, Hall & Oates, Rolling Stones, The Who, Fitz and The Tantrums, Toto, Van Halen (guitar style at times), Psycadelic Furs, Roxy Music, Local Boston Bands (now and then), I like Rage Against The Machine, Nine Inch Nails, Pink Floyd, So a wide range of styles.

If a Female Lead Vocalist: The Pretenders, Adele, Mellisa Ethridge, Fleetwood Mac, Jennifer Nettles, Amy Winehouse, Lori Morgan ( a little bit of country influence but more rock style), A little Janis Joplin type of style (but not too much screaming), Beth Hart, Alanis Morisette, Some old stuff like Donna Summers, Possibly Whitney Houston, Heart, Blondie, Celine Dion has a great voice (rock it up a bit), KD Lang (constant craving), Aimee Man, Annie Lennox, Martha Davis, Gwen Stafani, Dale Bozzio, Bonnie Raitt. So again, a wide range of styles. Be your own person, do the best you can and all will be good!
