ABOUT

Travis Bowlin was born into a family of true music lovers, not players, but real listeners. From Rock 'n Roll to Southern Gospel, Motown to Country, he listened to a wide range of Roots music...giving him the foundation for his powerful soul, rocky, but smooth blues voice. He grew up with struggles like most people do...knowing heartache & happiness, and those are the words that come out in his music. His grandparents gave him a firm Christian side of life and his mother gave him the real side of life by saying, “Treat people good and everything will work out”, which Travis lives by today.

Travis began singing at age eleven when a schoolteacher offered him an audition for the Cincinnati Boys Choir that performed gospel and choir style music. Being part of this choir gave Travis many opportunities to perform at other venues such as Cincinnati Music Hall, Riverfront Stadium (Cincinnati Reds), and dozens more. A few years later Travis got his first guitar from his grandmother. Travis remembers, “It was an old dusty thing in her basement. I’m left handed, so I played it backwards all the time until she let me switch the strings and take it home.” He only took one guitar lesson and is now a multi-instrumentalist. During that same time, he began writing original songs.

During high school, Travis performed and traveled with his school's Band and Choir where he had the opportunity to sing solo at Disney World, The Indianapolis 500, Cedar Point (winning outstanding vocals/performance), and many other venues. After high school, he spent a lot of time playing music in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana while writing songs, recording, performing in multiple rounds on American Idol in Louisville KY, and doing what he could to gain exposure through such media as the following:

RADIO: The Eagle 99.3FM ClassX 88.9FM 89.1FM, WFMCJams & NorsecodeRadio
TV: Channel 12 Cincinnati OH, TBNK Northern KY, Channel 6 Tullahoma, TN, TV Guide Channel Interview (American Idol Louisville,Ky), Writer on “Late Night Snack” Theme song for TBNK, Travis and his former band were the Winners of Gorilla Productions' Battle of The Bands at The Mad Frog in Clifton, OH, Won Convergys Corp. Singing Idol

In 2012, Travis made the move to Music City U.S.A., settling right outside of Nashville, Tennessee where he has been earning his stripes in the music business by gaining contacts, respect, popularity, and building his catalog of original songs. With hundreds of performances under his belt over the last 14 years, Travis Bowlin is looking forward to his promising future and to the release of his upcoming debut album followed by a 2014 summer tour.
