I never intended to be a "solo" artist. In fact, I never intended to be a multi-instrumentalist. What I wanted was to be part of a team. Part of a cohesive unit of like-minded musicians.
Unfortunaately, that didn't happen.
It turns out that in order to part of a team one must be willing to drink, get high, and play ONLY cover tunes; none of which I was (nor am) willing to do.
So I moved forward on my own, learning how to play bass and rhythm guitar. In less than a year I had a collection of songs ready to record. Armed with a simple 4-track cassette deck (this was the early '90's when home recording was in its infancy) I put together my first demo, an acoustic rock album which I plan on re-recording in the spring of 2015.
Today, at age 45, I have four albums to my name (all of which are being updated in my top of the line project studio), myriad professional level instruments, and a background in video production. What I don't have is a band.
What I'm looking for are other solo musicians. Musicians who sing, write, and record their own music. Musicians who understand that drinking and getting high are not a priority. I'm looking for musicians who want to share the spotlight with no single person being the "star" of the show.
Just like KISS, Fleetwood Mac, and the Beatles, my ideal band is to have four or five unique personalities (male and female alike), each contributing to the overall success of the project.
