I'm 30-something with a busy work and family life, but I love music and practice every chance I get.
I gravitate towards country blues, bluegrass, neofolk, americana style accoustic music, finger picking, cross picking, and rythm guitar. If you play any suitable accompanying instruments, that could work too. I'd love to learn to play the fiddle or dobro and work on harmonizing vocals, and slide guitar. I like to pay attention to the theory behind the music and expand my understanding of that as well (scales, modes, chord theory, alternate tunings, reading music). I've got a good handle on major and pentatonic scales, basic major, minor, and dominant 7 chords, but I don't read music yet, just tabs. I'm looking for someone with equal or better ability who'd like to get together weekly to jam and learn from eachother, eventually put a set list together and do a gig now and then mainly just for fun, mainly accoustic stuff. I have an electric as well, but rarely play it.
John Prine, Mississipi John Hurt, Robert Johnson, Jack Johnson, Ryan Adams, Norman Blake, Hank Williams, Steve Earl, Robert Earl Keen, Lyle Lovette...too many to name.
6-string acoustic-electric.
