About
Hi all,
I've been playing violin since I was three years old. I have a lot of natural talent that I really put forth into playing violin and not much else. I'm looking to get into rock/heavy metal, so I can get myself out there as a stage performer, and I'm really looking to have some fun and make some great music this summer. I can improvise, I play on the streets often, and I have the equipment to do solos. I own electric instruments, and the equipment I own allows me to make a lot of different sounds one wouldn't normally expect to hear from a violin. I've done a few pit orchestra gigs, a couple of full-blown symphonic gigs, weddings, spent way more time with youth and high school orchestras than I'd care to admit, and I am auditioning for the University of Illinois Symphony Orchestra in the fall. I am very flexible when it comes to musical styles, and I can pick up melodies and run with them fairly well.
As far as singing goes, though I don't have a whole lot of experience performing, I have perfect pitch and I am really good at imitating singers.
I'm living in Allen Hall at UIUC at the moment, so travel outside Champaign-Urbana might be a bit difficult for me at the moment, depending on level of interest and and whether I'd be able to carpool.
