Because we have many years of significant professional experience, UpTown Sound is the a perfect fit for your special affair. We can be as small as a 5 piece band, & expand up to a 10 piece band to fit your needs. From low key acoustic/ dinner sets, to rip roaring Rock, Top 40, Disco, & Motown medleys, we truly do have something for everyone.

John Dimarzio, Ray Fasano, Nicole Cocco, Yaz Samat, & Gil Pringle

Nicole has grown up in front of an audience. She performed in her first dance recital at the age of three, and no one has been able to pry her off the stage since. She says, "You can move me wherever you'd like, but my home is on stage." She has an eclectic performance history and is not only an accomplished singer, but also actress and dancer. Nicole is a classically trained vocalist, having performed in a wide variety of musical theater productions to singing with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra. She studied music and vocal performance at Montclair State University. Her vocal abilities range from classical and opera to rock, pop, soul, jazz, country, R&B, and more.

Yaz has been playing guitar since the age of 9. Although he was self-taught, it wasn?t until he attended high school when his musical ability began to really take shape. His early influences were Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Wes Montgomery, and Paul Simon. He has performed with bands such as Witness, New York New York, Corporation LTD, the Heat, the Bob Lachman Band, Johnny & Joe, The Coasters, Barbara Harris & the Toys, the Expressions, the Jive Five, NYXpress, Silas Night & the Brooklyn Horns, the World Famous Gas House Gang, City Sounds, Yazmatazz, and Yazmatic. He has recorded with Kenny McClabe Studios, 9 West Studios, Roy Baily, Fazil, the Bob Lachman Band, the Expressions, Vinny Zummo, Gianni Records, and of course himself. He performed from Staten Island venues such as the 4 O'clock Lounge and the Kings Row to the big stages of Continental Arena, Nassau Coliseum, and Westbury Music Hall. Also, for you rockers there were also many memorable jam sessions with the legendary Ritchie Blackmore! He played the corporate parties for Andy Warhol, Mayor Dinkins, Governor Cuomo, and American Express Publishing to name a few. Be it acoustic, island, disco, dance, hip hop, or rock Yaz just loves to play his guitar and smile. You will always hear him say "You have to have FUN first and everything else just falls into place."

John has been playing drums since the age of 10. He has played with many bands in the NJ/NY area, most notably in Catch-22, Blame it on Ritchie, Charisma, NYXpress, and Human Wheels. To me, drumming is part of my soul, as well as the music that surrounds me everyday! I am inspired by al types and styles of music as well as all the beats and rhythms that accompany it. One can easily see and hear the versatility of John?s musicianship from his performing on acoustic drums and/ or his performance on electric programmable drums. He knows when to keep it simple or fill the gap, and he provides a solid foundation to drive the band from a romantic ballad to jaw dropping rock or dance tune. John is one solid time keeper, keeps the band a the perfect volume, and he is an accomplished vocalist too. Besides playing in cover bands John has worked as a production assistant at MTV Productions, and as a remote sound engineer at NY?s K-Rock Radio Station.

Gil is an experienced player for many years and has performed a ton of professional gigs. Regardless if Gil is playing his 4 string Fender or his 5 string Warwick, he is an "in the pocket" bass player that lays down a foundation so solid one could erect a skyscraper. Gil and John have a seamless musical glue that was evident from his audition. From Etta James to Bon Jovi the groove is always perfect. One can easily hear his influences of James Jamison, Marcus Miller, Stanley Clark,Victor Wooten, Verdin White and others in his playing, while he makes it look effortless. We are very happy and excited to have Gil on the UpTown Sound team.

Furman power conditioner, Allen & Heath Qu-16, 2-Crown XLS2500 (1550 watts), 2-Crown XLS2000 (1300 watts), Eminence 15" tops, RCF 18" subs, Shure PSM 200 In Ear Monitors for the entire band.
