Big changes in the band, and it looks like we might need a whole new set of bandmates for at least certain situations. Guitar, bass, drums...maybe keys... (It's still Amber and Jason, but we're being realistic about the impacts of some life stuff. Amber is potentially open to a side project as well.)
21+ (but not enough "plus" that it will look like a parent/child act, please...serious baby faces will be taken into account)
Reliable and hungry for success are as important as having your own gear and getting along personally/musically :)
Looking to make sounds like those we've made before (and you can listen to examples at .varnishcentral, as well as see pictures and videos; further examples of Amber at .thecompanionsarehere).
Looking for others who are dedicated and hardworking, willing and able to practise at least twice a week. Amber says: To be honest, I build my life around the pursuit of musical greatness, not the other way around...Even when I'm doing something else full-time for bills, I'm putting in about the same amount of time on band things.
Eclectic musically, and tend not to categorise the songs the band has been making more specifically than to say we're a rock band. However, you'll probably notice the love of British rock, old melodic punk, and 80s college radio. And pop is *not* a dirty word. We might not be aiming to be mainstream pop artists, but pop structure and catchy riffs are beautiful things.
Would prefer someone okay to learn the songs we've already got as we work to build new.
