The Velvet Hellcats (current working name) are a rockabilly/surf/early country cover band located in Lexington, Kentucky. We are looking for a vocalist who is willing to sing traditional rockabilly (Carl Perkins, Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochran, etc), early country (Johnny Cash, Ernest Tubb), and some surf (The Ventures, etc). Guitar abilities a plus. We are looking to do covers and some originals and play around the Lexington, Kentucky area. The goal would be to have at least 4-6 working gigs a month. Must be willing to practice at least 1-2 times a week. If you have practice space, that would be a huge bonus.
