I'm a guitarist/pianist looking for fellow band mates to start a large indie band with strong folk and world influences with a slight rock edge. I want a fair sized group of people who would call themselves artists, not just musicians.
I currently have no transportation, and take the bus to get to BCC for classes. I have a very large room that would accommodate for practice, and it's where all my music equipment is.
Ideally, I'd like to have 6+ people, including myself. Hopefully the influences below will give you some kind of feel for the music I want to make.
I'm honestly looking for anyone who seriously plays and wants to contribute. Strings, flutes, alternate percussion, programming (reason and electronics) can all have a place.
If you are one of those people who don't want to spend $10 just to message someone (hint hint bandmix) email me at vincentundertheice@
Broken Social Scene, Arcade Fire, Death Cab for Cutie, Modest Mouse, Built to Spill, Tegan and Sara, School of Seven Bells, Iron and Wine, Kings of Convenience, Band of Horses, Bonobo, Feist, Noah and the Whale, Sigur Ros, The Postal Service, Beck.
Epiphone PR5E Acoustic/Electric (better than most Epiphones)
Ernie Ball Music Man John Petrucci Signature (not just a metal machine =D)
One of the mid value Yamaha stage pianos (the number is spacing me)
My sisters crappy bass (I can play it, but can't take it anywhere)
A garbage drum kit (ok for practice though)
I currently don't have an amp, which I will remedy in the near future.
Currently? None.
