The long answer:

`Just looking for any would-be musicians interested in getting together a few times a month for an Acoustic Jam.

If something becomes of it, cool; if not, life goes on...

I just wanna get back into doing what I loved to do most before getting caught up in the monotonous day-to-day routine of being a so-called "adult"!

I'm a 34 year old married male with 2 awesome kids under the age of 3.

I don't get high or party {anymore} & I'm not interested in jamming with those who do.

I learned the hard way that smoking bud every day & partying every weekend became my focus in life; instead of chasing my dream to become a true musician, I found myself lost in the middle of nowhere after years of chasing nothing but that next high ~ I progressively played music less & less & got stoned more & more, somehow convinced that in order to be a "REAL" Rock Star you had to follow in the foot-steps of all those fallen heroes & legends I'd idolized so much, most of whom are all dead from overdoses now, gone insane, or simply withered away mentally & physically as a result! ...If the drugs don't getcha', eventually the lifestyle will!

I was fortunate enough to pull my head out of the clouds at 25...

"And then one day you find
ten years have got behind you,
No one told you when to run,
you missed the starting gun.
-*-
And you run and you run
to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death."

~Pink Floyd~

Anyway, I just wanna play music & have fun doing it.

Here's where I'm at:

I guess I’d consider myself an intermediate. I don't know how to read music but I do know chords & chord progression.

...To the disappointment of my Guitar Instructor some 16 years ago, I just wanted to learn to play the song(s), so I learned to read tab instead of paying attention to Mr. Mel Bay!
Like so many stupid moves in those days, I regret that decision too.
{C'est la vie!}

I can usually "find" my way into & around a song & keep up during improv jams, but when someone says they're playing in F or C or whatever, I only know the chord they're referring to, not necessarily how to play in that key until I find myself there. And the more I practice, the fewer sour notes I find myself hitting in jam sessions too!
Go figure!?

(My next step is to pick back up that Scale Booklet & get to work!)

I can also carry a tune & do enjoy singing.
I'm no Freddie Mercury or Steve Perry, but I do alright.
...B.C. (Before Children) I was a Karaoke Whore, but don't hold that against me.

Influences:

Influences: Lots.
Genres: Most.
Favorites: Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Beatles (Especially Lennon... w/ or without the other lads), JellyFish, DMB, Cat Stevens, Zeppelin, Skynrd, Tommy Emmanuel (I can play NOTHING like his majesty!), Jim Croce, Ted Nugent, [Early] Aerosmith, The Black Crowes, Skid Row, GNR, Metallica (the long-haired version), Pantera...

Weird Al, Spinal Tap, Cheech & Chong, & pretty much anything from The Dr. Demento Show (Sunday nights @ 11pm on 97.9FM - Tune in!).

Obscure, New Age sounds as well.

Equipment List:

An Ibanez AE (Acoustic/ Electric) & a wooden bar-stool!
