ABOUT

I am originally from Northern Texas, moved to Southern California in the 60s, and currently live in Southern Riverside County. I am a happily married 66-year old male that still feels like he's 25. Most of the time.

After taking a lengthy "vacation" from the music business, I'm now enjoying the resurrection of an old passion: Performing live music. Back "in the day", I was a founding member of The GRITS Band (1980-1984). GRITS opened country music shows for artists including David Frizell, Lee Greenwood, and Sylvia. In 1983, the Music Connection Magazine Live Action Chart rated The GRITS Band the #1 country music band in Southern California. In that same year, The California Country Music Association nominated The GRITS Band for its "Golden Eagle" and "Band of the Year" awards. I was also a member of The American Made Band (1984-1986). The AMB opened country music shows for artists including John Anderson, Gary Morris, George Strait, Merle Haggard, and Alabama. The AMB took first place honors in the 1985 West Coast Marlboro Talent Roundup. I was honored as the CCMA's Bass Player of the Year in 1985.

I am currently a member of Bodie, The band. Five pieces professionally and energetically performing classic rock & roll, a bit of country, and some R&B.

Real Country. Across the board. From Price, Waylon, Haggard, and Jones, to Strait, Jackson, Brooks, and Paisley. From The Oak Ridge Boys, Alabama, Exile and The Eagles, to Diamond Rio, Little Texas, Brooks & Dunn, and Lady A. Of course, I've gotta throw in a pinch of Skynyrd, a bit of The Marshall Tucker Band, and a good measure of ZZ Top just to round things out a bit.
