About
Alf was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1983. His mother, who played acoustic, turned him on to the guitar at age 12. Alf loves all forms of musical expression, often taking time to practice the drums. He has composed many of the staples of Bridgeport Folly’s repertoire, lending his smooth, earthy voice to most of the band’s tunes. He brings a youthful attitude and excitement to the band, for he is part prankster and part visionary. Upon hearing Alf play the guitar, it becomes immediately obvious that he has studied closely the likes of Carlos Santana, Jimmy Page and Jimi Hendrix. Alf’s guitar seems to bleed off the stage as he bends and hammers his way into oblivion. His solos can only be described in one way: mind-bending; sailing over concert-goers, dripping from the ceilings and tickling the souls of onlookers, the notes from Alf’s instrument seem to take on a life of their own. To witness one of his improvisations is to be swept off one’s feet and taken on a whirlwind tour of Alf’s heart and his mind.
