Having been birthed into a family of prospective musicians and taught by violin and guitar masters, Westley Schlundt has had perfect opportunities to excel in his musical abilities.

His music training began at age four under the guidance of one Sherie Pollock of Orlando Florida. When his family moved to Montgomery Alabama, there were no teachers in town that would take such a young student (five, at that time). To continue his training, his parents were forced to drive twice a month to Birmingham Alabama for him to study under LaDonna Smith; the best decision made for his musical career.
"She breathed life into my music. Without her I would not be the musician I am today." Westley is quoted as saying.

It was under Smith's supervision that Westley grew in musical stature and learned the many important techniques of great musicianship that can be heard in his music today. Excellent improvisation and great teaching abilities were Smith's claim to fame and she passed the former down to Westley to experiment with. She is also the founding member of the Birmingham Suzuki Violin Association, the program that Westley was a part of. Smith taught Westley everything from blues to Jazz to Celtic fiddling. The most latter can be heard all throughout his style.

Westley's most recent endevour is becoming a Suzuki teacher, himself. Studying under Ronda Cole of Washington D.C., Westley is about as qualified as they come to teach children.
As the student quickly becomes the teacher, his studio in Montgomery grows at rapid rates.

Westley has performed with numerous musical groups and bands ranging all over the world. In January, he performed with Barrage, a fiddle group based out of Calgary Alberta Canada. While in Ecuador on a sabbatical, he was able to play with the prestigious Andean band Cotopaxi. He even performed with Governor Mike Huckabee for a fundraiser.

The W brothers is a prestigious stringed musical group based out of Montgomery. Westley is a founding member of this group as are his brothers Walden and Walker. Having performed at numerous weddings, parties and other social gatherings, they are the most sought after strings players in the surrounding area.

Westley has also performed with other local musicians including, Bobby hicks, Adam Miller, Justin Wright and Thomas Irby. He is a member of the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra, The Faulkner University Jazz Ensemble and The Faulkner University Chorus.
"Because of these guys, I can play what I play. I've been taught along the way and I won't forget them."

Ranging from Classical to Bluegrass, Celtic to Jazz, Westley's style is enormous. He will admit with open humility that this is only because of the other musicians and teachers in his life.
