ABOUT
You suck as a musician and here is why you should not quit your day job
- Playing too loud is all you know
(You have no clue about dynamics)
- You can't hear when your own guitar is out of tune,
so you play song after song out of tune while your
lonely tuner sits on the pedalboard begging to be used.
- Your music teacher frequently cancels your scheduled lesson
- You are over 50 yrs old, have pictures of yourself hanging in your house, still think you are a rock star, and are still trying to impress your high school friends
- You don't know the difference between the major and minor scales, or for that matter ANY scale!
- You think the Lydian scale is a weight measuring device
- You play by ear.... and it shows
- You think paying your "dues" is playing at your neighbors bonfire or backyard barbecue
- You practice in front of a mirror, imaging your life as a rock star
- You get 5 likes of your page and 3 of them are your own aliases
- Your girlfriend says you are good enough and you don't need to practice
- Your girlfriend tells you when (and if) you can practice
- Your dog leaves the room when you start to sing
- Your idea of a successful gig is heading to Guitar Center and noodling around for an hour, playing too loud and not having a clue of what you are playing
- Your other idea of a successful gig is heading up to the local karaoke bar and singing to the local drunks
- You post a video on You Tube and ignore the dozens of messages that say you suck
- You post a musician wanted ad online but have no recordings or videos of your playing
