About
I’m forming a new-grass type group, along the lines of Old Crow Medicine Show, seeking a solid mandolin/banjo/utility player. We plan to cover some older bluegrass stuff, Irish folk, put a bluegrass spin on some older and contemporary music, and even write/record some original material. The general idea is to create an exciting rock-type energetic atmosphere at shows and hopefully pack some venues.
I’ve been in A LOT of bands, I have tons of stage, studio, and booking experience. I think it would be relatively easy to book and “sell” a project like this. There aren’t many groups doing it, running sound would be low budget and very simple, and there are tons of booking possibilities.
We currently have guitar/vocals, fiddle/vocals, banjo/guitar/harmonica, and upright bass. We’re seeking any combination of utility player; banjo, mandolin, harmonica, lead oriented flat picking-style acoustic guitar, slide guitar, etc-harmony vocals are always a HUGE plus. Preferably talented younger musicians (20's or 30's) who can both sound and look the part. Preferably located in the Westmoreland/Fayette county area or don’t mind mixing up the driving for practice.
