ABOUT

I've been playing bass longer than I like to admit, since I was a teenager, and that was a long time ago. I started out with guitar but once I tried the bass I was hooked. My mom and dad thought it was just a passing fad. They told me I'd outgrow it, but that was 45 years ago. I haven't yet!

Over the years I tried my hand at a variety of genres but eventually settled on something that would pay the bills, country-rock. That's what middle-aged folks wanted to hear, a mixture of rock'n roll, country, & blues... dance music. I played with a successful local band for 17 years. Later in life I found a new passion, southern gospel, and traveled with a gospel quartet for 3 years. It was fun and rewarding, but sadly there's not much money in it, barely enough to cover expenses. I've even tried bluegrass. I can do it. I just don't like it! So if you're looking for a bass player and you're wondering if I can do it, the answer is "yeah, probably". I can do most anything except hard rock and rap.

If any of this sound interesting, drop me a note. I'd like to get a group of older musicians together mostly for fun. I'm not opposed to playing out if the sound is right and the opportunity presents itself, but that's not my primary goal. Let's get together and see what happens.
