I've been playing in bands since I was 18 years old. Visit me on Myspace at: http://www.myspace.com/FerrellElectronics
I switched from being a very fluent bass player to keyboards in 1983. I went into the production end of the business from 1993 to 2000. The stage and lighting used for the Charleston Sternwheel Regatta was my company. I've worked with everyone from willie Nelson, George Jones, and most of Nashville to groups like Aerosmith, Nsync, Britney Spears, Motley Crue, 3Doors Down, Nickleback, The Trans Siberian Orchestra, to Disney on Ice and Ringling Bros./Barnum & Bailey Circus. Although I still do professional pyrotechnics for major concerts, I sold the production company and went back to playing keyboards in 1998. Keyboards is my primary instrument, but I am still a very fluent bassist, and a get the job done rhythem guitarist.
I'll play about anything thrown at me. If I can hum it, I can play it. Influences: the Eagles is the greatest band ever, however bands like Chicago, KC and the Sunshine Band, and Grand Funk were early influences. As a kid, my dad listened to 50's music, so therefore I grew up listening to that too. I hit my teens to the Motown sound of the Funk Brothers and still love that material. I was a rocker like everyone in the 70's. I was into the 80's hair bands. Later country singers like Ray Price, and Johnny Bush brought Western Swing influences to my internal mix. I like rock bands like REM, Greenday, Nickleback, and Three Doors Down. Female infuences include Patty Symth, Trans Siberian Orchestra, and Pat Benatar. I guess in summery I like all types of music as long as it is done well.
I have PRO GEAR all the way. I have the best pro keyboard and bass rigs in the State of West Virginia. I have the EAGLES Farewell Tour DVD, both of my keyboards are on their stage. I play a Yamaha Motif ES8, and the new Yamaha Motif XS8, both 88 key. I feed the boards through a stereo Motion Sound amp with a built in Leslie rotator horn in the top. I have a hot-rodded Fender Jazz Bass, with a Harke Amp system. I play rhythem through a 1976 Fender Super Reverb. My axes include a 50th anniversery Fender Stratocaster, A 60th Diamond anniversery Telecaster, a Givson Les Paul Studio, and an beyond awesome Gibson Custom Shop Classic Les Paul Black Beauty.
I have a B-52 and JBL Pro PA that will pin you against the wall, and an awesome LED par 64PRO intelligent lighting system.
16 super bright pro quality LED par-64 cans with infinate color mixing is equivelent to having over 120 par cans of conventional lighting with gels. Best part is no power distro or ton of power needed to power them up. They're digital, so no noise in the PA.
The B-52 PA is all self powered to a sum of almost 9,000 Watts RMS with NO heavy amp racks. It's all a matched pro system that is as clean as any JBL or EV system in it's class. I personally think it has the Renkus-Heinz or Apogee tone to it. The subs are B-52, utilizing the Massive 1,000 watt RMS 18-inch woofer in a front loaded cabinet and the identical woofer in a B-52 Earth Quack scoop. The internal sub amp in the front loaded cabinet drives the scoops also at 1,200 RMS per side. The tops are made of a B-52 dual 15 w/horn trap that has a 1,000 RMS internal amp. The second set of top cabinets are Mackie SW1530z 600 RMS trap cabinets (Mackie is made by EAW). They make a beatiful addition to the B-52's. The combined four cabinets per side produce an incredible quality sound at earthquake sound pressures. After all, what good is loud if it don't sound fantastic.
The monitor system is all JBL EON15G2. These cabinets are also self powered with 300RMS to the 15 inch woofer, and 100 RMS to the 1.75 inch titanium fluid cooled horn. Can't hear these on stage, then it must be your fault:-))
No room in the area too large for this system.
With theis sound and light system, we can put out the best production in the Charleston Area hands down.
