I'm looking to sing, and help with the writing process as a whole. Playing guitar, bass, and drums gives me a better knowledge of structure and dynamics, but one guy can't do it all. A song needs more influences. Not out for fortune and fame, not in it for the girls, just want to get out and have fun.
I'm looking to find a group of guys who have various tastes in music, as I tend to be a vocal chameleon. I'd like to find some guys who aren't potheads, crackheads, etc. My time is limited, and I don't want to waste mine or yours if we aren't a fit. I have recorded a few tracks here: www.myspace.com/xamuelkolt7
I'm a much better live vocalist, and tend to hit karaoke from time to time. Give me a shout, I'm easy to get along with, and I have a very odd sense of humor.
I'm kinda tired of making music with a specific purpose. Right now, I'm going for a mood. I'm currently into some weird dark, southern, indie rock. I love Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill Soundtrack)and Jace Everett (True Blood Soundtrack). The Toadies, Killswitch Engage, The Cure, Alice in Chains, The Cult, APC, Him, NIN, Prick, Johnny Cash, Faith No More, AFI, Garbage, Sepultura, Pantera, The Ventures, Death Cab, Old GNR, Social Distortion, Danzig, Etc. That's what I listen to, but I don't try to limit myself vocally and I'm always trying to find new ways to grab people's attention. No gimmicks, the music is the point.
I'm not opposed to stripped down guitar driven rock, electronics, or acoustic instruments. You name it, I'll bring it.
I'd like to write music for everyone who's ever had their hearts ripped out and pissed on, but I also want to write music for the ones who survive and overcome. I want the music to be sickly sweet and beautiful, and then twist on a dime to bring the masses to a frenzy of love, hate, life and happiness.
Ibanez X-series guitars, Line 6 POD 2x12 Amp, POD guitar and bass rack effects, Roland Electric Drum Kit, various mics and cables...
