Metal with a social conscience. With a unique mix of insightful lyrics, aggressive and heavy guitars, industrial and techno samples, and infectious grooves makes Xanthic a unique and powerful musical force in a time of standardized cookie-cutter bands.

Formed in 1999 in the Bay Area, Xanthic gained its roots from the emerging “cyber-metal” scene. Xanthic's mission was to bring to the people a fresh new sound, which was extreme but had a positive message. With their debut independent 2004 release of Evolution, Xanthic unleashed a blistering 9 song commentary on society, politics and religion. The first track “The Ministry” laid the foundation of the album with intense guitar layering with industrial and techno sampling. Accompanied by the title track and “Left Behind”, there was no doubt this was a metal band. Not afraid to experiment with different musical styles, Xanthic drove heavy with industrial and techno beats and sampling with songs like “A New Romance”, “My Way” and “All For You”.

In 2005, Xanthic relocated to Albuquerque, NM. With new surroundings and a fresh start, Xanthic Acid is currently recording their second release, Die to Live Again (scheduled for the summer of 2006). This album is more stripped down and raw but with incredible intensity and creativity. Songs like “govX” and “Die to Live Again” prove that Xanthic is always evolving and challenging themselves and the world around them.
