I am a professional drummer (paid to play for 15+ yrs., [doesn’t mean I am charging anything for my services]) who was in a regional band for almost 10 yrs. and played most of the original music venues and bars that Houston has to choose from. First and foremost, I am a Christian. That does not mean that I am necessarily looking for a Praise and Worship band to join; though that's not out of the scope of reason. It also doesn't mean that I am only looking for band members who don't smoke or drink occasionally, but I myself do not partake of either one and if that's a problem, I'm probably not the guy for you. Second, I am married to a woman I love dearly. My faith and my marriage go hand in hand. I am not willing to compromise my own morals, to project a certain image. It’s a subject I’d be happy to discuss further with you IF it’s a subject you’re interested in asking me about. So to make a long story even longer, if you are a band that promotes tons of sex, debauchery, or elicit drug use with your lyrics or stage presence, I’m not the guy for you. I’ve done the whole…drink our way through our sets, and party harder when the owner of the bar locks the doors at 2:00am. While I used to excel at that type of life, it’s not for me anymore. No judgment there, I just have had my fill and don't find any satisfaction in it anymore. I would rather skip the wine and women and get straight to the song these days. I am relatively versatile, though I probably won't be hired by any Latin or jazz ensembles anytime soon. I have good, steady, solid meter and can be flashy when I need to be. I also play acoustic guitar, and used to sing lead (from behind the kit) on about half of the covers my old band did. If you don’t need an additional vocalist, it’s not a deal breaker, but I do love to sing and would welcome the opportunity. As far as style of music my first choice would be in-the-pocket, groove oriented, riff based rock and roll.

Influences:

My rock roots were firmly planted at an early age with the likes of Zeppelin, Humble Pie, Thin Lizzy and Mountain. My tastes also tend to have a southern flair to them, having grown up on Willie, Waylon and other folk country artists like Townes Van Zandt and Rodney Crowell. I like alternative music as well, but if I had my preference, I like the new swing back to garage oriented, not overly produced, seventies style rock such as Supergrass, Red Walls, White Stripes, Wolfmother and The Strokes. My Praise and Worship style preferences would lean towards bands like Gateway Worship, Deluge and Lisa and Locke Aaron Brady.
