I’m a 54-year-old male guitarist.

I have been playing forever. I have good equipment and reliable transportation. I can also sing harmony, and some lead vocal if needed. .

My taste in music is wide…. But I like to play classic rock to hard rock. I enjoy some of the newer country as well. I am not above playing the standards, or am I afraid of the new stuff they are playing on the radio these days.. (*see exceptions/disclaimer at bottom of page)

I have been in bands since I was a teenager and though age has matured me in many good ways (emotionally / financially / romantically) I still absolutely love listening too and making music as much as I ever have. My evenings and weekends are free. I don’t smoke, don’t drink, don’t take no drugs. I just like to rock. And, I think I am pretty good at it :) I like playing two or three weekends a month and prefer to play Fridays and Saturdays. I’m not fond of weeknight gigs unless they are audition type things, or the money is fantastic. And yes, I do want to make some money.

Ok, here is what you get:
I come to rehearsal prepared with equipment in working order. I bring a positive attitude, open mind, and a desire to make exceptional music. I am willing to pitch in with moving equipment, and I can run a sound board if need be. I believe in the democratic system and will abide by the majority. Though I am not Yngwie, I am far from being a ham fisted schmuck that only knows one scale. My personal gear includes all that is needed to play either the cleared out corner of a tiny local bar, to the stage at Comerica Park and I will gladly play either :) I have all the effects needed to replicate just about all guitar sounds used today and yesterday. Add to that a willingness to learn and work as part of a team and that is what you get with me.

Here is what you don’t get:
Prima Donna hissy fit/pity parties, lies, whining, excuses, drunken pothead substance problems, loose canon/rogue behavior, temper tantrums, mooching, shirker/slacker, last minute call offs, my kids, televangelist/political rants, issues with the law, emotional baggage, crazy relatives, gunplay, or drama….

And here is what I’m looking for in a band:
I’m not perfect, and don’t expect you to be either. But I do want to work with people that are as serious about this kind of fun as I am. I would hope to find likeminded band mates that exhibit pretty much the same attributes I describe in “what you get” and that aren’t crippled with the neurosis I list in “what you don’t get”.

Though I can appreciate the following genres of music, I don’t find myself with any desire whatsoever to play them. They are: Death, Thrash, Prog, Speed, Metalcore, Grindcore, or Neoclassical (sorry Yngwie) and the like types of “metal” Sincere good will to those of you that do :)
