I'm taking on a different approach to avoid all the stress in looking AND being in a band. Since I'm 24, in school, and work a job that completely conflicts with life, I figured I'd just try to put together a project rather than a band (for now at least). Not to mention I haven't recorded an album since I was 16, so for once I'd like to have something to finish rather than do nothing musically. So pretty much I'm a singer looking for some musicians: guitarist & drummer mostly and someone with recording knowledge seeing as I don't know s**t when it comes to that, who are up for the goal of writting some songs and recording an album. Granted, who doesn't wanna play shows and get big and live the dream? But that's the least of my focus for now, if we decide to start playing this stuff live, I'm down. If some L.A man decides we should be national, I won't say no, but again, I've been dealing with enough bandmates who've had their heads grow over all of that to the point where it f***s up the whole reason we wanted to play music in the first place (I'm sure many people reading this know pleanty of those guys). So that's why I'm just looking to set one goal and see where it goes.
If this project sounds like something you're interested in, let me know your thoughts and ideas
Over the past 10 years, I've either been ripping off STP, AIC, Bush, Smashing Pumpkins and other 90's rock, Singing Hard Rock (Deftones, Cold, Taproot, Sevendust, Breaking Benjamin exc.), or playing acoustic songs by myself (which is really the only recent stuff I have recorded http://www.youtube.com/user/echocodso22?feature=mhee). I think I'd like to try something different, something more alternative (Failure, ORION, Dave Navaro solo, Weezer, Incubus, The Cure, Ken Andrews solo, obscure Smashing Pumpkins). Pretty something that when you hear it you almost wonder if you heard it on Beavis and Butthead once. I know it sounds like I've over thought this, but in my defence, I'm listing stuff that's on an "End of Summer" Playlist that turned out to be my new favorite comp.
I sing. Not that I plan on playing guitar, but I do use my Ibanez acoustic for writting purposes
