PIANIST KEYBOARDIST , SAXOPHONE, WOODWIND, ETC. looking for band(s) without egos or attitude problems. I have a degree in Music Performance from UAB in Birmingham. My main instrument for school was saxophone, but I have been playing piano classically since age 4, and indeed, I am sought for my piano ability mostly. I'm an exactist in my playing. For covers, I like to learn keyboard solos exactly as they are performed on the recordings. I can play any style imaginable. I've performed with a number of bands, some now famous, some not so much. I've also performed with some famous individuals. I've performed with some of the founding members of Blood, Sweat & Tears, an obscure jazz flugelhornist named Tony Guererro, who thereby introduced me to such people as Russ Freeman, Brian Bromberg, etc. I've performed with members of Three Doors Down. One of the bands I'm in just recently opened up for Prince last year in B'ham. And I assure you, that gig was not given out arbitrarily. As for my sax playing, on my alto I tend to sound like David Sanborn. This is no coincidence as I use the exact same set-up as Mr. Sanborn, that being a Selmer Mark VI alto with a Dukoff Super Power Chamber mouthpiece D-8 with a LaVoz Medium reed. And I can sound ultra-funky on it. In fact, I'm so funky, I've got the EPA camping outside my place in protest on a regular basis. On soprano I sound a lot like Kenny G, although it is not because I want to. I also have a variety of other saxophones at my disposal, from the rare sopranino down to tenor, C-melody, C-soprano, the ultra rare F-mezzo soprano and more. My first paying gig was actually on bassoon, and I also play clarinet, flute and occasionally, penny whistle. I also play all the mallet percussion instruments, like xylophone, marimba, vibraphone, and indeed I was a section leader on these instruments with the Million Dollar Band at University of Alabama, and am well versed in 4 mallet technique. I have even been known to do some backing vocals. No piano/keyboard player on the rock scene intimidates me. They all have 10 fingers, just like me, and I can play everything they can play; make no mistake about it. THINK POSITIVE...AND YOU CAN DO ANYTHING....THAT'S WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT!! I should like to think all interested parties would hesitate not in contacting me at zanymadcap@.
