Zej is a singer/songwriter whose music reflects his experiences living in Paraguay, Switzerland, several countries in Africa, Minnesota, Virginia, and most recently San Francisco, California. His newest work is best exemplified by his upcoming EP titled Manitou, a soulful, darkly melodic compilation of original songs.

I am interested in adding people to my band which would center around my own original compositions and musical vision, and perhaps a very few covers. I also want to include ample opportunity for each band member’s unique creativity and contributions to the overall sound.

I’m looking for electric bass, electric & acoustic guitar (one person), perhaps a pedal steel player, and drummer to add to my lineup (currently a duo with me on rhythm guitar/vocals and a violinist). While it’s important to be a professional, semi-professional, or even rock-solid amateur musician, I am especially looking for creativity, versatility, and experience with on-stage performance. If you sing backing vocals, that is a plus.

I would highly prefer it if you are based in San Francisco, to minimize commuting for rehearsals and gigs (I expect most gigs will be in the city), and interested in being part of a creative musical project. Paying gigs are a priority, though will need to be considered a medium-term objective. Many early gigs will likely be entirely tips-based. I have rehearsal space here in SF. I don’t use drugs and prefer people who don’t – there might be wiggle room on occasional 420 use but not at rehearsals or gigs.
