ABOUT

Skot T Mac is an emerging artist whose style is alternative rock, with much of his music catalog presenting a powerful allure to span into the mass markets of pop, and even new/alt-country. His vocal and musical style is unique and cutting edge, and offers today’s music industry a fresh angle and incomparable attitude.

Skot t’s fortitude lies in his inimitable vocals, powerful lead guitar ability, and confident yet humble personality.
Skot T Mac’s interest and influence in music stems from a long family history of accomplished artists. His great-uncle, Warner Mack, was a chart-busting country music performer who released nineteen number one hits in the 1960’s and 1970’s, such as “Is It Wrong (for Loving You),” “Talkin’ to the Wall,” “Sittin’ in an all-night café,” and “The Bridge Washed Out.” Warner Mack’s recordings sold over 25,000,000 copies, and his songs were also recorded by artists such as Loretta Lynn, George Jones, and Ricky Van Shelton (whose remake of “After the Light’s Go out” was the 1992 BMI #1 song of the year.) Following in this musical heritage was Skot T’s uncle, Dave (Amazon Ted) McCaskell, who has perhaps been his greatest influence and mentor in songwriting and guitar. He had a successful career as a session musician, singer/songwriter/guitarist, and toured with bands such as Memphis and Shenandoah. During the 1980’s, Willie Nelson referred to Dave McCaskell as “the best rhythm guitarist in Nashville,” offering him a position in his band, which unfortunately Dave had to decline due to other contractual agreements.
Skot T’s ancestry and genetic predisposition for great talent has been the foundation for developing his own personal style. Throughout the years, he has watched, listened, observed, and taken to heart the hard work and perseverance it takes to become a successful recording artist. His potential for mass commercial appeal is demonstrated not only thru his demo, but also his catalog of songs and ability to transcend many musical genres.
