ABOUT

Yeah, I'm a self-taught guitarist/singer, 20yrs experience. I can play just about anything, guitar-wise. Style-wise...think Eric Johnson/Van Halen/Jakk Wylde/Satch/Slash/The Edge/Randy Rhoads with a dash of Hendrix thrown-in for taste. I like (original-wise) coming up with riffs that stand out from the same-old same-old, 'cause in the end, that's what people remember about songs, the catchy/cool parts....imagine "Welcome To The Jungle" without the jugga-ja-jugga delayed intro riff Slash played...just doesn't seem rite, eh? I always strive to be inventive, while at the same time not over-playing, let the music breath when it needs to. I'm just as home playing fast-scalar runs as I am holding/shaking a bent note and letting it feedback for a few measures. I'm not formally-taught but can read sheet music/tab very well. As far as what I want to do...I'd love to get a kick-ass rock band (covers and originals) together w/ responsible bandmates who understand you get out of it what you put into it. For some reason that's always a problem, it seems anyways. I only want to play with REAL musicians who can REALLY PLAY their respective instruments well. If you're that kind of musician, maybe you should hit me up. Generally, cover-wise anyways, I like all kinds of rock but for some reason I tend to gravitate towards songs from the late 80's-mid to late-90's, lot of great stuff come out of that period. However, I love some of the newer stuff like AlterBridge/StoneSour. Oh yeah...I love A Perfect Circle, any Alice 'N Chains....it just has to be a great song, not many of those come out nowadays...Originals...hmm....Everybody wants to play originals, I do too, and I got a few that I think stand out from the norm. Originals are fine as long as they're good. And the good songs usually don't come out of thin air, there has to be a little work involved, which I'm all for. That's that. Btw, I've been learning alot of Rec/Pro Tools stuff (lotta plugins too), def got something to help write/record good songs. I have some great guitar equipment to gig with-Elec/AC guitars/amps/preamps/effects/whole nine yards. I can sing lead/back-up vocals, I can harmonize really well (one thing that really goes a long way towards making the song sound bigger and better ...Alice 'N Chains>>awesome harmonies, those guys). I'm not a singer by trade but I can def give it a shot. I've been in bands around here on and off through the years. Honestly, my guitar playing has been on hiatus for half a year (taking a break) but I'm just probably starting back again this week actually. Really been feeling the urge/need to play so I guess I'd better put out an invitation for anyone looking to put together an awesome band and play out. I'll tell ya, if ya wanna do that and seriously get out gigging, I can pretty much play/practice any night of the week. I don't wanna play with guys that are committed to other bands, that never pans out well. As far as practice I'd prefer only 1-2/wk and I come to practice with everything fully learnt, that way, practice isn't wasted learning the songs we should have down in the first place. I'll expect the same from you. If ya REALLY want to get a great band together and turn it into something special that stands out from the rest, get in touch with me.
