Band to Join.

I'm an experienced bass guitar player: I've been involved in music in one way or another since piano lessons in the 3rd grade. I played trumpet all through middle/high school, and picked up the guitar somewhere along the way; I switched to bass after meeting guitar players in college who were light years beyond me... figured it was the best way to keep up with them.

I moved to Portland in the early 2000s and joined up with a co-worker to start a 4 piece blues band. We did lots of Stevie Ray Vaughn, but eventually expanded out into rock genres; Cream, Beatles, Spencer Davis Group, Steve Miller, Georgia Satellites, and even some Black Sabbath. We gigged actively - usually 3/4 times per month - for about 6 years before going our separate ways. After that I was involved in original bands for a bit, and came back to play in a woman-fronted classic rock/80s rock band and did that for another 2-3 years; groups we covered included Journey, Joan Jett, Van Halen, Adele, Bruno Mars, Grace Potter & the Nocturnals, etc.

Took a break for a few years after our drummer in that band moved away, joined another group for a bit that played mostly for fun: we played some Police, Pretenders, B-52s, Southern Culture on the Skids... never really gigged because they were very disorganized but it was still fun.

I've been out of the game for the last five years or so due to the birth of my son, but at this point I'm looking to dip my toe back into the pool.
