I have recently moved to Elkins and am looking for a new project of some sorts. It Doesn't have to be conventional 3,4,5 piece band, or duo, but any of those are fine also. would like to do something original, i enjoy harmonies, and am not oppossed to doing something outside the conventional box. I've been playing guitar for about 18 years, and have sung for my whole life. i understand music theories and can read music, but am not blind to the talent of those who do not. Mostly i'm looking to do something interesting that incorporates the tastes and styles of the musicians i'm playing with. I have played in rock and blues, ska and metal bands (3-4 and 5 piece) and have done some different things with viola's cello's saxophones banjo's and d.j's. mostly since i have just moved here and since i know very few musicians, i am looking to play with some other people and see where the music takes us.

Influences
This list could be giant. I appreciate all styles of music, or at least try to always find the interesting and originality involved with most styles of music. that being said, influences from my parents were classical, folk and blues rock of the 60's.(classical) Mozart, Chopin,Tchaikovsky almost anything played by Jasha Heifetz, (60's rock/folk)the Beatles, Canned Heat, Joni Mitchell,Led Zepplin,e James Taylor, C.S.N.Y ,Muddy Waters,, Pink Floyd,Bob Marley, Simon and Garfunkel. Janis Joplin. Growing up most of my friends and i were into metal and more distortion related music. Primus, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam,The mighty mighty Bosstones, Rage against the machine, Corrosion of Conformity, In the last few years i've found myself listening to even more diverse music as i find more and more great music out there. this part of the list will be a meld of much music from all genres. Kishi Bashi, Modest Mouse , Thao and the get down stay down,The Police,Wilco, The Clash,Laura Marling,The Shins,Emmy the great, Fugazi, Coco-Rosie, The Avett Brothers, Langhorne Slim,Abagail Washburn and the The Sparrow Quartet, The Raconteurs, Gillian Welsh, Silversun Pickups.. I'll stop beacause i can literally go on and on about music i like.
EQUIPMENT
I have an acoustic and an electric and an amp and a bunch of pedals, all good enough for gigging out, and even have a neat Xoom portable digital recorder for going to someplace serene and making outdoor recordings. it four-tracks which is nice, but i use it mostly for holding onto ideas while i am just having fun playing.
