ABOUT

My friend John and I have been in this goof/ultra-alternative/outsider/emo/joke band called Action Potential since way back in 1989 (we met in college at Rutgers). We have had many different members over the years, some with actual musical ability (we do not). The way it usually works is: I write some funny and/or depressing lyrics, John comes over, we have a beer or a glass of whisky in my basement, we get a drum track going, one or both of us start singing (somewhat off-key), and we capture whatever happens on my digital recorder. We recently lost our talented guitarist Paul because he moved to Pittsburgh. He would listen to our raw ideas and put together chord progressions or melodies on the fly, often with great results. Now that he is gone we are looking for someone laid back with a sense of humor to help turn our ideas into something resembling music. Can you help? We are mellow 50-year-olds and are easy to get along with. The main goal is to have fun, although creating something that someone else would want to hear would be nice too. :-)
