FREELANCE NEO BOP JAZZ SESSION DRUMMER Contact me via Cell = 845 901 4072, Set Lists to aj.gretch

My absolute first love began during the 70's, when I was born, and grew up listening to " The J.B.'s, " James Browns' Funk band that eventually birthed, the original Hip Hop music, that people listen to today. Also during the 80's, there was a resurgence of Bop Jazz, in which they named it " Neo Bop Jazz ", which as a kid, I totally loved, and began my focus as a young drummer.

I've Spent many years mastering my craft in; The Music Conservatory of Westchester, in White Plains, NY, as well as in my internationally well known drum school at; The Collective School of Music, ( The Drummer's Collective ), in lower Manhattan.

Playing Funk is what is most natural for me to play, because I grew up, and was born in, the Hip Hop era, in which it was based on. However, due to my many years of Jazz training, and my love affair, with, hard swingin', Hard Bop Jazz, my goals today are, continuing to play in a solid Rhythm Section, either creating Hard Bop Jazz originals, or, covering all of the many wonderful, Bop Jazz standards, for all of us many Bop Jazz aficionados, right here where Bebop was born, in New York City, ( Harlem ), and the surrounding areas.

Always in search of great Pianists, and Double Bassists, or even a hard swingin' Electric Bassist, to swing with, in all of the famous New York City Jazz clubs, or busk on the street, to earn a solid buck, and bring back Bop Jazz today, like it was, in the mid 40's and 50's.
