Songwriter/composer. I play acoustic and 5 string electric violin. I try to address socially relevant topics in my lyrics in the belief that music can raise awareness and can be a force for inspiration and change. Music is a way of searching for the ineffable and maybe helping the listener towards that journey. In essence, for me, music is a spiritual journey. I presently have about an album worth of material that is in need of other musicians. I don't have a lot of illusions about what I have to offer. I'm 67 yrs. old and I play violin (probably not so desirable on this website). I do write some good material that I would hope gives the opportunity to highlight other musicians and I hopefully have something to contribute to someone else's compositions. I have attached here some very basic "rough draft" pieces. Excuse the use of some backing track stuff, since, at present, there is only me. The song "Nocturnal Perturbations" that I have on my profile is in need of a female vocalist, as it is a story told by a woman. I have, at best, a mediocre voice (I'm not a vocalist). I'm especially looking for a vocalist, guitarist, keyboardist, percussionist, bass, etc. In essence, a complete band for recording original music and perhaps performing. I practice 3 hrs/day and am very driven by a passion for musical expression/creativity. gm=alecord953

Influences
Everything from Bach to Hendrix and beyond. Way too many to enumerate as this would cause my brain to explode. The list increases daily. I will say that I like to practice to things like Steely Dan and some of the Gypsy jazz people. Whatever pushes me to improve.
