ABOUT

I sang professionally with my band, singing mostly my original music. I also worked for 20 years as a freelance, studio vocalist. I'm a good lyricist, decent songwriter, can harmonize on just about anything, and can read shape note music fairly well for vocals if you're into that kind of four-part harmony music. I'm a long-time member of the Dallas Songwriters Association as well as the Poetry Society of Texas. I'm mostly looking for people to record with and maybe play a few open mics with some of our original music. I don't play an instrument well enough to offer that as an option.

Influences

I've had plenty of years to be influenced by vocalist and music and barely know where to begin. I enjoy listening to really current music and don't listen to many 50's or 60's songs anymore like many people my age. I like to stay up with what's current, but a good mix of both always makes me happy. I got started with Gore, Ronstadt, Emmylou, Stevie Nicks, Grace Slick, Allison Krauss, and Kate Bush and enjoy more current examples like Gabby Barrett, Julie Roberts, Cheryl Crow, Lana Del Ray, and Laura Daigle as singer/songwriters. Well, and really a whole lot more. I love of musically harmonic vocal groups like the Everly Brothers, Ambrosia, Crosby Still Nash and Young, Little Big Town.
