I have been playing for 7 or 8 years. i study jazz and have a two year music degree but i cannot call myself a jazz player because that would be a lie. I have a general understanding of jazz theory but am not a sit down jazz player. I use the knowledge gained from improvising, chord theory(etc)that I've learned from jazz based lessons and apply them to shred styled playing. The type of music i enjoy playing is experimental metal(djent) but I am open to various styles of music. I enjoy to shred but i try not to focus my music around it, I dont just like "guitargasm" music.

EQUIPMENT
I have a Schector, im not specific on the model because i dislike it. I am looking to purchase a music man (Steve Morse model). My limited budget does not allow me to have the rig i desire.
