SEEKING
Band to Join, Bass Guitar, Vocalist.ABOUT
We are currently seeking a bassist with a strong vocal (s.a. Jack Bruce in Cream, ...sort of...) or very strong base player who can do a trio band of some instrumental originals or some cover songs. Or possibly bringing both new vocalist and bassist.
History of our band goes like this:
- We have been together for many years since 1995; various member changes throughout the years, but the core members were bass (from 1995), vocal, guitar (myself), and drummer (also from 1995)
- We used to have a very soulful / bluesy, strong vocalist, joined us from about 1996 - 1997; we made many original songs, as well as did some cover songs for occasions when we gigged out.
- The vocalist had to relocate due to his family situation around 2006
- Since then, a few vocalists filled the spot but never quite reached to the point that we fulfilled our musical ability.
- Bass player decided to leave the band due to his personal reasons last year (2011)
- We tried a few different musicians in and out, but not quite good fit.
So currently the drummer and I are exploring different possibilities, s.a. trio band to simply many aspects of band (s.a. scheduling, easier setup for gigging out, etc...). The drummer and I both have a strong family commitment, and the possible musicians need to be RELIABLE in terms of scheduling practices and gigging.

EQUIPMENT
We are currently in the process of migrating over to a DAW solution to streamline the practicing / song ideas / recording in our practice studio, s.a. either Cubase 5 or ProTools (...but it has been taking a long time...). We use Roland VS-2480 system to automate the practice studio environment. We used to use Mackie 16 ch console for live-gigs but have switched to use the VS-2480 (so that we can also record the live gig simultaneously). Some recording related equipment are:
Alesis quad verb, dbx Compressor Limiter, Focusrite VoiceMaster Pro (for Mic Pre-amp), etc..
Some of my guitar rigs consists of:
Mesa Boogie Road King, Johnson JM-150, Line 6 Vetta HD, Axe-Fx, Eleven Rack, various stamp pedals...
Guitars are... just so many that I lost counts... LOL
Fender starts (several), Gibson LesPauls (few...), VH strat, Pevey models, etc. etc... you get the picture... :-)
