Influences

Grew up watching musicals with my mom, so sang a lot of Doris Day songs and things from My Fair Lady and Camelot. Also because of my parents I grew up with Oldies (Beatles, Beach Boys, Simon & Garfunkel, you name it and I sang it)...Sang a lot throughout school including high school choir as an Alto II. I love sultry songs, but I think my favorite songs to sing nowadays are those by Gwen Stefani, Amy Winehouse, Adele, Lauryn Hill...man I'd love to sing like Alicia Keys but can't hit those high notes. Someone said my voice sounds really good for Fleetwood Mac's Lanslide. Had to learn that song after that comment. Loved performing bits from Chicago with my friends for fun as well. I play piano also, but I'd rather sing. I've had fun just singing with my guitarist friends before, and I'd love to do that sort of thing more often. :)
