I've been playing guitar for 10 years, and I'm looking to start an original band. I play Hard Rock/Heavy Metal, with some different elements sprinkled in. I have other influences rooted in Punk and Surf Rock. I don't like to limit myself as just a "Metal" player. Some of my tracks are aggressive and fast, others have a more Classic Rock feel, and others are just clean guitar. I'm a pretty competent player; definitely above average, but I'm no shredder by any means. I feel I'm more of a rhythm player. Depending on who I find, I could go either way. Riffs are definitely my strong point. As far as my solos go, I like playing more melodic stuff. Whether it's because I actually like the way it sounds, or it's just subconscious compensation to my lack of skill, is unknown to me.
I'm looking to form a band, not join one. Just throwing that out there. I have a lot of rough drafts that I'd like to polish with other musicians.

Warehouse
Warehouse Genre: Metal
Basically, this is a series of riffs heavily-influenced by Metallica, specifically "Battery". This is a short demo, just to show off my ideas, concisely.

Rampage
Rampage Genre: Metal
A riff I came up with, but didn't know what to do with. So, I made a track where I just tweak it, slightly. This is just an abridged first draft.

Alone
Alone Genre: Acoustic
Just proof that I'm not all Metal. This is a very mellow acoustic track.

Progression
Progression Genre: Rock
Very simple song with a good melody. This specific chord progression always inspires me to write jaunty melodies. Nothing particularly special about this one, except that it showcases my "ability" to sweep pick.

Stalemate
Stalemate Genre: Metal
Hands-down, my favorite solo section I've ever written (1:40). This is an old recording; I have since tweaked this track and made it much better (including changing that "verse" riff, which was obviously lifted from "Trapped Under Ice".) I feel like this song sounds very... "me". I feel like I fit snugly between what's considered "Rock" and "Metal", and I feel like this is a prime example of that.
