ABOUT

Alt rock band, based on my songwriting which has grown rapidly and in which I have near-total confidence. My vocals are about a 7, and unlikely to get to 10, so I'm open to working with a talented vocalist, but you must actually be really good. I am not a cliche writer, and am actually probably strongest in the written word, though I am also a competent hard rock riff writer. I do not make claims to being the biggest lead shredder, but I can get the job done melodically with leads. FInd me at antinetcentral at the Y place. Search Spotify for the band Antinet to which I own the domain and brand. I had it before Antifa became a thing. I'm political but not insane. I've got four songs added, though I must stress my newest writing makes more sense and is at times, more current. I prefer dark hard rock, but with some lighter moments. Dirge rock is too far for my taste and I don't find it marketable at all. I don't have delusions about selling out, but I like music to be somewhat accessible to listeners, like rock once was. Not into Emo. Blink was OK, but none of their imitators. Nirvana is about as happy as I want to get and they could get quite dark. You know, VARIETY. If I haven't responded, I've been too busy putting out what's already been completed, so sorry on that. I still need to subscribe and take this seriously.

Influences

Classic rock (all the greats), punk rock, heavy metal (zeppelin, metallica, sabbath, soundgarden style riffs, but not with growlmeister or eurogoth vocals), though i do like SOME modern rock guitar styles. Also a big fan of Rush, though they were the best of prog rock. Also a fan of the Clash and Nirvana. A band needs its own identity and it takes a while to get there.

Members Of Band

I'm the songwriter, vocalist and bassist/guitarist. I'm looking to front a new band, mostly because my drummer is now a family man, and my lead guitarist has a steady tv gig in LA. Finding a solid drummer I gel and can jam with is the most critical. Then I also want a top flight lead player, as that is something I do to a certain level, but it's not my ultimate role. I'm also open to another vocalist, or even an exceptional lead vocalist who doesn't mind singing my songs. By exceptional I mean a true tenor talent.

EQUIPMENT

I have a solid home DAW setup and 5 years mixing with in studio education. I can work with a solid engineer in a top flight studio for final tracking. I have a Yamaha drum kit as well in a useable rehearsal space, though a larger space would be nice. I have funds to keep the skids greased to some degree.
