Member of past and present Valley bands Matt Byrde, Shadowcat, Shumoto & The Byrde, & Tetsu the Phoenix. Trying not to go as hard anymore on practice schedules, gigging at sh*tholes, etc. Mostly, I just want to make cool records. If you're looking for someone to contribute to a record of originals or covers without selling you a line about how I'll be your most dedicated member for the rest of our natural lives, I might be your guy.
I can read charts and site read capably, and am equally comfortable in noise/improv settings as I am bashing out 4 chord rock tunes as I've done in most bands I've been in for the last 10 years. I'm more compelled by the former at this point than the latter, and think that's where I can contribute the most meaningfully. Still happy to help write or complete conventional songs, throw down rhythm guitar, whatever, but if you write originals and want something interesting happening on the guitar, synth, or Rhodes to complement your existing arrangement, maybe I can help. Bonus points if you'll ask me to play a few gigs a year at venues that have a door on the bathroom, don't include backlining for a bunch of bands who can't be bothered to show up on time or bring a single person to watch, and aren't on a Tuesday at 11 PM.
