Born on February 12, 1977 in Tehran, Iran. Immigrated with his parents to Boston, Massachusetts in 1979. Growing up in an Armenian family, Arvin has been influenced by his rich culture. With a love for music at a young age, at 7 years of age Arvin started Violin lessons, at 12 fell in love with the Guitar listening to Pop/Rock music of the time. In High School Arvin was an active member of the Performing Arts playing concerts and in pit bands for school plays, he also performed with his music group at various local battle of the bands competitions.

In 2002, while taking studio production and engineering classes, Arvin met Karen Kocharyan, a Jazz Drummer from Armenia attending Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Karen introduced him to the world of Jazz. Listening to Bassists such as Marc Johnson, Scott LaFaro, Glen Moore, and Larry Grenadier, this is where Arvin heard and fell in love with the sound of the Double Bass.

Arvin quickly decided to purchase a Double Bass and went through an extensive period of practice, taking lessons from Bassist Joshua Davis, and attending master classes at the New England Conservatory with visiting artists such as Miroslav Vitous and Dave Holland. In 2004, Arvin received a scholarship to attend Berklee College of music in Boston, Massachusetts. This is where he met, learned from, and played with talented musicians such as Pianists, Vardan Ovsepian, Lefteris Kordis, and Doug Johnson, Bassists Esperanza Spalding, Panagiotis Andreou, and John Lockwood, Trumpetist Phil Grenadier, and Drummer Karen Kocharyan.
In 2008, Arvin was inspired to move to Armenia. He was the Bassist for Chico & Friends. He also freelanced with the local musicians in Yerevan, playing at various Jazz clubs such as, Malkhas Jazz Club, Paplavok, 12 Club, and Stop Club with talented musicians such as Vahagn Hayrapetyan, Yervand Margarian, Hayk Shakaryan, Artur Grigoryan, Zaruhi Babayan, and Armen (Chico) Tutunjyan.

In December of 2009 Arvin moved to Southern California where he continues his practice and works freelance playing Electric and Upright Bass.
