SEEKING
Violin, Piano, Fiddle, Cello.ABOUT
Puddleton is a band created by William Gibbons, who writes and arranges all the music for the band. Currently we are three: two multi-instrumentalists (covering guitar, piano, banjo, mandolin, accordion, etc.) and a trumpet player.
We need a violinist and cellist to finish the line up. As we are just beginning, we would like to fill out the group, practice for a few months, and start playing shows.
The idea of the band is to take some influence from classical styles of composition, with more dynamic song structures, harmonies, melodies, etc. and merge that with more the more catchy, modern stylings of modern music.
I am at work as I write this, and consequently don't have an audio files with me to upload, but here is a link where you can listen to some ROUGH demos, and see why we need a violinist:

Influences
Okkervil River, Noah and the Whale, the Decemberists, the pillows, the idea of progressive rock but not the execution of it. I actually have some influence from when I listened to punk, like Bad Religion, and power metal like Sonata Artcica, when I was younger, and bands like Muse. Puddleton, however, is all acoustic, and takes influence from folk music, classical composition, flamenco, and other things.
Members Of Band
William Gibbons, Katie Mazzarelli, Bob Laing. We're all in our early twenties and I (William) am still in school, for animation.
EQUIPMENT
Various instruments, maybe an amp or two, some microphones. We don't have a lot of live gear yet (outside of instruments).
