ABOUT

Actually seeing videos of me and hearing my music will probably be a better description then anything I can write. Checkout my be channel, atcdiddly. I update it weekly with song demos, performance practice and discussion videos.

I've been playing guitar for about a decade. I started with lessons but at this point I'm self taught. My lessons were directed towards Classical Guitar which continues to influence me, but I've expanded since then.

My playing is ecclectic. I'm a jack of many trades and master of none. Though I love playing for its own sake I'm currently mostly interested in writing songs. To me, the production, mixing and attitude are all just as important as the actual musicianship.

I'm very much interested in creating a band with more focus then just the recordings. I want to put a lot of effort into images, videos, performances, attitude, and presentation. Basically, I'm not just looking to play guitar on stage but rather to be involved in something truly immersive in the spirit of some of my favorite bands.

If any of this sounds interesting to you feel free to give me a call. Mondays and Sundays are my weekends so that would be the best time to call me. I currently work more than 40 hours a week, but I would be willing to sacrifice some of this time to get more serious about music.

Influences

My influences come from more places then I can list or then I'm probably even aware of. For the past few years my favorite band has been Pink Floyd. Other progressive rock I like includes Dir En Grey, Visitor 2035, King Crimson, and various obscure albums I've come across. Generally I don't like a lot of modern progressive music.

As far as heavy music my favorites are Slipknot (especially Iowa), Fear Factory, the Gazette, MUCC, and Iron Maiden. I don't play much heavy music but I like to think I encorporate elements in subtle ways.

Some other musicians/music I like (in no particular category) are t.A.T.u., Masayoshi Takanaka, Bjork, Miles Davis, Dua Lipa, Michael Jackson, Nightmare (Japanese band) Macintosh Plus, Vaporware, Indie, and a whole lot of Funk and Classical.

I can't say how much each artist has influenced me, but this a lot of the stuff I've liked throughout the years.

Though I'm primarily a fan of rock I've never thought of myself as a "rocker". Pink Floyd best describe the kind of energy that I want in my music (though I'm not looking to copy them).

EQUIPMENT

Guitars: Steel String Acoustic, Electric, and 2 Nylon String Classical Guitars.

Additional: Electric Guitar amp, 3 plugin wires, a Bad Monkey Foot Switch, and a Blue Snowball Microphone.

Generally I have fixated way more on song writing and playing rather than equipment, but recently I've started to invest more thought and money into equipment.
