ABOUT

Behind The Music
Aunel; songwriter, lyricist, Topliner, vocalist was born December 25th. Raised in Queens New York, Aunel began singing at a very young age with her sister, Tracey. She listened to and was influenced by great artist of the 1970’s like: Tina Marie, Chaka Khan, Rick James, Rolls Royce and so many others. After graduating high school in the 80’s Aunel and her sister formed a rap group called The Unique Force. Aunel quickly realized that her passion was for singing instead of rapping and informed her producer that she wanted to sing. Aunel has performed with local jazz artist such as Traci Tota at the Newburg Jazz Festival, Live Bestbuy, The Fryin Pan, Global Ministries Church worship singers and as a wedding singer. Formally signed to Big Beats Records, Aunel worked with producers Bruce Wright, Bill Lounds and Patrick Adams of PowerPlay Studios.  Aunel’s voice was heard on a KFC commercial that was featured on WBLS Radio Station  in the mid 80's.  Aunel notes this as one of the great experiences of her life to collaborate with the other artist involved in this project. Aunel has showcased in New York and hosted talent shows throughout the metropolitan New York area.
Aunel’s greatest inspiration is her mother Priscilla West. Her mother Priscilla encouraged Aunel’s dedication and commitment to live her passion, her love, her heart and soul, MUSIC.

Over the last twenty-five years Aunel has worked as a Host at Moments Nightclub, as a studio artist and as a member of the opening act for the historic R&B/Soul groups, The Moments; AKA Ray, Goodman & Brown and The Manhattans.

Aunel got to extend her range as a member in the cast of a play entitled Soul Heaven.
Aunel believes in giving back for the good of her community. She often lends her talent to a cause and to help bring awareness to worthy organizations. She has worked on fundraising efforts for breast cancer and 100 Black Men in America. Most recently Aunel worked as a member of R&B Groups; Top Groove, Sauce and  Never Lose Touch (NLT) Band.
