I've been singing for the Eau Claire-/Menomenie-based band, Fighting Nice with Others, but would like to find some people to jam with (and maybe more?) while in La Crosse.
I've had about a year of experience playing with FNWO (jamming, writing, gigs, equipment) and I would love to learn more. I love being a part of making music and it is especially fantastic to do it with other people.
I have had some vocal training and been involved in other projects (such as this one [://radioreddit/songs/?song=deimos_phobos_(thehiggspotato)_jovian]). I have a more alto range but can pull off soprano as well.
I have a soft spot in my heart for jazzy bluesy things vocals.
I would really like to have more experiences in the music world and, if possible, help create some really awesome sounds.
I have a little experience with piano (six or so years of lessons, but very little practice for seven years). I also have a little experience with acoustic guitar. I know the basics and am improving bit by bit. Years ago I learned to play the violin and, if hard pressed, could relearn it.

The artist I've been keeping my eye on recently is Highly Suspect. The artists that I listen to most often (or at least keep coming back to time after time) are: Modest Mouse, Metric, Fiona Apple, LCD Soundsystem, Miike Snow, Regina Spektor, Arcade Fire, Florence and the Machine, Little Dragon, Ratatat, Spoon, Passion Pit, etc. I like the old goodies like Billy Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, and Frank Sinatra as well. So smoove. I also have a very warm place in my heart for Led Zeppelin, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Canned Heat, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, etc.

I have an acoustic guitar (Seagull) and a Special SG Epiphone with an iffy jack. I'm also borrowing a small practice amp. Other than that, I'm barren.

This was collaboration I did providing vocals with Elliott Etzkorn (of Deimos Phobos) on his album Leisure. If you're just listening to see if I can make pretty noices with my mouth, you can judge that at around the 2:05 mark. To hear the rest of the album (highly recommended) and more music from the artist or to download the song, go to http://elliottetzkorn.com/music
