I used this particular (BAND SEEKING MUSICIANS) category to enter our information because my wife and I have been making music for 8 years now and we finally decided to start a band. This is NOT a majorly serious record label make your millions kind of band. And at the same time, it's not "just" for fun. It is for fun, but we have a REAL desire to gig and play and practice regularly.
We are very fun and fun loving people with a lot of talents. We're not very interested in anything overly serious. We like to have fun, but we like to take our fun seriously. LOL!
Our hearts are set on discovering musicians with excellent taste in music and bringing back to life (with our band's own twists and turns and flares) the music of yesterday and possibly some originals if the chemistry is right. We are really mainly thinking FUN stuff, like Three Dog Night, some Beatles maybe, Sonny and Cher, Peter Paul and Mary, Buffalo Springfield, James Taylor (if anyone out there can handle his tunes). A lot of oldies in general and a lot of oldies with love and happy themes etc... New Christy Minstrels, Paul McCartney... But very open to many other things. We're not looking to hack out another run-of-the mill classic rock cover band, or Dave Mathews wannabe band, or generic blues, or Southern rock or redundandt country music and sorry, but we are vehemontly oppossed to Heavy Metal and hair-band crappic rock type stuff. NOW, we do love some classic rock, like some Queen, some Bowie, some Fleetwood Mac!, Some Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.
Let's save some time here and say, We believe that a good and new twist on a bar and coffee shop gigging band is to center around anything in terms of music that is GOOD, fun, smart, lively, etc...

Influences

Members Of Band
So far just my wife and I.
I play Keyboards, primarily, and would likely be the keyboard player in the group. I also play the guitar, but not confidently enough to take lead, definitely rhythm though. I play bass decently enough, but I don't have a bass, nor an electric guitar. ( I want a Les Paul) I also play the drums really well. But, it's hard to switch between keys and drums, so, a good drummer would be a welcome addition. My wife sings and plays a little guitar, and can handle any extra percussion bits (tambourine's etc...) She sings quite well. But, we can always use a variety in terms of voices.
Anything you might have to offer, be it a sax or a trumpet, or guitar, or violin, or voice... drums... whatever, give us a ring and we'll see if it fits into the gig.
EQUIPMENT
I have a few things. CD burning equipment, a really decent Keyboard, a simple but trusty acoustic guitar... We need some mic's and monitor's etc... But, I have plans for these things, and there may be others of you out there with interest in this band who have access to some of this other required equipment as well. It'll all work out.

This is an example of some of my keyboard composition style. I compose, by trade. I record almost everything I have writen since I began composing 10 years ago. I've gotten considerably better over the years. This is kind of just representative of my "style" or original influence and playing technique / composing technique, but this is NOT representative necessarily of the sound I would contribute to the band. Just a glimpse of how I can sound. (copyright 2009, Adam R. Hass)
