Band to Join, Rhythm Guitar, Acoustic Guitar.

I'm an older guy looking to relive the high school (1982) days of playing in a rock/classic rock or country band. I'm looking to hopefully retire in a few years, and in the meantime get better at playing my guitar. I would like to find some likeminded people in the area who want to get together and play some music. I don't drink, and my job does not allow me to use drugs, and my wife won’t let me go out and chase girls all night in dive bars, so if you’re in to that don't bother. I found when I played with other people in the past, it force me to get better.. The last person I was jamming with taught me it is better to learn the whole song and not just the cool parts that everyone knows..... I found out the hard way at an open mike night when I was up and I started in with my cool riff of Slow-Ride from Foghat. The parts I play at home by myself are really awesome, but when the bass player and lead guy jumped in, I had no idea what to play or how long to play it... so now I try to learn all the rhythm parts from intro to chorus bridge to out-tro. I someday want to learn sheet music but for now I rely on tabs...

Mostly i grew up in the 80's so i try to relive all the 80's bands. usually they are easier to play since all they had were a lead guitar rhythm guitar bass and drums.. not all the electronic crap with tons of overlays that you would never be able to play live anyways. I try to play classical music, rock , pop country, anything that has a good sound that moves a person.

Over the last thirty years i have collected low-end guitars and the last few years i decided all they did was collect dust, so i traded all of them in for my four guitars that i currently have now. A couple of decent Fender Strats, a pretty decent acoustic guitar, a Fender Blues Jr. amp to add volume, basic fender tone with rev/delay.
