ABOUT

Unavailable at this time, thank you for visiting. I am an accomplished front-line performer and have played in classic rock, hard rock, country and bluegrass cover and originals bands. Usually bar mix classic sets of all the the above. I personally love country music above all, but have worked and enjoyed many variety groups. I have opened for Leon Russell, The Jefferson Starship, Coco Montoya, Henry Kapono, Nikka Costa and others at local concert halls with various groups. Vocal range can accommodate high harmonies, but mostly do not do more than one lead (or none) as I prefer to concentrate on bass and harmony. I love to to work local festivals, busy dance clubs and opening acts such as the Coach House, Hard Rock, Galaxy (Observatory). I believe in quality over quantity and am willing to put in some serious rehearsal hours prior to playing out. I like to play out about once a week, when possible. I enjoy one to two rehearsals a week, and show or festival venues. I'm totally beyond the age wanting to load out 3 times weekly at 1:30 AM then going home and eating every carb in the refrigerator, so earlier gigs are my preference - I am a team player, however. I love to play most classic rock, new and old country especially, and any music with passion. Backup vocal gigs are fun, too. Please feel free to friend at Barbara Bastrup on so I can keep in touch with and support other musicians in So Cal.
