ABOUT

SEEKING MEMBERS FOR A NEW HIGH-ENERGY MUSIC PROJECT CALLED BARN BURNER! The style of this band will be based on a rather broad genre I simply call 'groove-based.' It will consist of a lot of funk, some R&B, latin, reggae, hip-hop, world music and whatever else this yet-to-be-determined collaboration may come up with that tears the roof off the joint. There will be a major emphasis on movement during performances (a lot of choreographed dancing) to maximize stage presence (NO awkward pauses between songs). So, especially for the horns and vocalists, some dance skills are preferred.

Barn Burner will consist of at least 3 horns (trumpet, bone, sax). A keyboardist who can jump on as a 2nd trumpet for some tunes would be ideal. We are also seeking 2 female vocalists who can harmonize well with each other. Other than that, your basic rhythm section.

We will start off as a cover band and focus on paying gigs (corporate/private functions, weddings, etc). Once we've established our identity through covers, written and arranged some ideas, we will begin working in orginals. Rehearsals will be very strict as the goal is to achieve a very tight sound and be able to give consistently outstanding performances. Commitment is key, so preferably no kids, playing in 3 or 4 other bands, or extremely demanding jobs.
