ABOUT

Looking for the right musical situation. I enjoy playing cool songs with nice folks. The genre is of secondary importance. Prefer mature players who understand dynamics.

***Best suited to be a hired gun at the moment. Will do studio work. Have learned 40-song setlists on short notice when the money was worth the work.*** References available.

It would be enjoyable to be in an old-school C&W cover band complete with a pedal-steel player.

There's an old musician's saying: Money, music, hang (and connections, per Tommy Tedesco) . . . there has to be 2 out of the three to make it worthwhile. Currently, money is not the deciding factor in my desire to play music with others. Nonetheless, if I'm in a Band, I don't wish to play for free . . . for "the exposure" on general principle. If someone is profiting from our labor, then so should we.

I enjoy the music with which I grew up; Zep, Allman bros., Dio, Steely Dan, Deep Purple, Little River Band, AC/DC, Orleans, The Doobies, Eagles, Stevie Ray, etc., but also have an appreciation for old-school Country, like John Cash, Buck Owens, Don Gibson, Roger Miller, Merle & Waylon, et.al., and enjoy Motown as well.

If you're looking for Jaco, Billy Sheehan, Joe Dart, or Jeff Berlin, I'm not your guy. I love and appreciate what they bring to the table, but that's not me. Not looking to be a "lead" bass player, just a dude who plays with timing, taste, and tone. Stylistically, my goal is to play like John Deacon of Queen, not to overplay. As your bassist, I see my job as holding the song together and pushing it forward . . . locking in with our drummer and playing in the pocket.

At this stage of the game, not willing to put up with any falderal, ballyhoo, or balderdash . . . Ok, mebbe a little balderdash on occasion.

Growing up in Miami during the 70's, nothing shocks me. I've seen everything and done . . . most everything. I drink very little and don't take illegal drugs. That being said, your business is your business, as long as it doesn't affect OUR business. A creed to which I aspire is: "Be professional, be on time, and be prepared."

Here's hoping to hear from you.
