ABOUT

Hi! I'm Ben Ashley Kilgore, though when performing I tend to go by the alias Steven Shepard (long and boring story there). I've been playing Trumpet since I was eleven, though I would still rank myself as intermediate by virtue of the fact that the instrument I learned on was banged up enough that it presented a significant hurdle to my progress. I've also been playing piano/keyboard for five years, and have apparently progressed impressively well. As for my experience with electronic music, I've been composing with LMMS/ZynnAdSubFx for about a year or so. I'm currently studying creative writing at NMSU, but am also fighting to double major into piano performance.
I am currently trying to get a band off the ground with some of my friends, but as of right now I seem to be the only person fully committed to the project and am hoping that I could potentially find better professionalism here.
In terms of experience, I'm embarrassed to admit that the majority of my performances have been school concerts/marching band shows. I've also played a few open mics, but have never done a full set. I've also written/arranged several different songs (currently working on a concept album) and even dropped a (sub-par) electronic ep.

EQUIPMENT

Right now I'm forced to make do with a Williams Legato III keyboard, LMMS and the software it comes with, and Noteflight Premium. However, when I don't have to divide my efforts between school and work, I hope to get better equipment.
