I have been playing guitar and bass since I was 10 or so. I have picked up piano, banjo, uke, and mandolin along the way. I love everything about music. Especially as an art form and a medium for expression.
I like all types of music. Anything that has a good feel, emotion, expression, sound, or is interesting.
Looking for a stellar drummer and bassist to start a new project with. Most likely going to trip-hop, alt-indie-ish, rock, jazz-influenced, funk, jam-ish kind of music. Mostly influenced by bands like Toe, Boards of Canada, Portishead, Modest Mouse, Wilco, Velvet Underground, and other bands of the like. I am ideally looking for members who would like to be apart of the creative process and write music together and combine the genres mentioned to make something unique. I will be switching off on guitar and keys/synth depending on the track.
To get a little taste of the kind of music it will I have made in the past listen to the music attached to this profile. I think I want the music to be a bit more indie/alternative than my other bands have been and to include vocals - but we can see what happens.

Influences
Wow, dam so many. Uh, depends what genre we are talking about. Well I grew up on Led Zeppelin and the like. But I guess if I had to pick my top influences (at least at the moment) it would be all the jazz classics, Bach (was so ahead of his time in my opinion - his stuff was so jazzy and just down right mind blowing), radiohead, the grateful dead, a lot of trip-hop, and lately I have been listening to lot of Indie/Alt like Modest Mouse and Broken Social Scene. Love Wilco. Lately I have been really getting into minimalism, like Phillip Glass and Steve Reich and the like. Really, really, really digging this math rock band from Japan called Toe.
Idk I can go on forever listing bands and artists, there are so many out there to listen to who I have been influenced by.
